What is a Sound Journey?

A Sound Journey is a guided meditation enhanced by the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gong, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments. Rather than trying to “clear your mind,” you simply relax while the sounds help quiet mental chatter and encourage deep rest.

Not at all. Most of our participants are completely new to meditation. There is nothing you need to learn or do correctly. Simply get comfortable, close your eyes if you wish, and allow yourself to receive the experience.

Everyone’s experience is unique. Many people describe feeling deeply relaxed, peaceful, and refreshed. Some notice emotions surfacing, vivid imagery, or a dreamlike state. Others simply enjoy an hour of uninterrupted rest.

There is no “right” experience.

Our bodies are made primarily of water, and sound creates vibration. Research suggests that certain sound frequencies may help encourage relaxation by supporting the nervous system’s shift into a calmer state. Many participants notice reduced stress, greater mental clarity, and a sense of overall well-being after a session.

For studio Community Sound Journeys, we provide comfortable reclining chairs and blankets.   You do not need to bring anything.  We recommend wearing comfortable, layered clothing (people often become cooler as they relax.

No. At Harmonic Strength, Community Sound Journeys are held in comfortable reclining chairs so you can fully relax without needing to lie on a yoga mat.

Many people do—and that’s perfectly okay! Your mind and body still benefit from the experience whether you remain awake, drift in and out of sleep, or sleep through much of the session.

Community Sound Journeys are approximately 60 minutes.

Private sessions are available in 30-, 60-, 90-minute and longer formats and can be customized to your goals.

Is this religious?

No. Harmonic Strength Sound Journeys are welcoming to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. The experience focuses on relaxation, mindfulness, and nervous system restoration rather than any particular spiritual tradition.

Community Sound Journeys are recommended for participants ages 12 and older so everyone can enjoy a peaceful, uninterrupted experience.

Most people can safely enjoy a Sound Journey. If you have epilepsy that is triggered by sound, severe sound sensitivity, or other medical concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before attending.

If you are pregnant or have any questions about whether a session is appropriate for you, please feel free to reach out before registering.

This can happen, and it’s a normal part of slowing down. Sound and meditation sometimes create space for emotions that have been held beneath the surface. If that occurs, simply allow yourself to notice whatever arises without judgment. If you need additional support afterward, we’re happy to provide referrals to trusted local therapists.

Yes. Space is limited to keep our studio intimate and comfortable, so advance registration is recommended.

Community Sound Journeys are free to attend, and donations are gratefully accepted to help support future offerings.

Private sessions and corporate experiences are available by appointment. Please visit our Pricing page or Contact Us for more information.

If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, mentally busy, or simply looking for an hour to unplug and recharge, you’re in the right place. You don’t need any experience with meditation or sound healing—just come as you are. We’ll take care of the rest.

That’s completely normal. Your mind doesn’t need to be quiet for the experience to be beneficial. Simply notice your thoughts and gently return your attention to the sounds whenever you remember.
